It was subsequently taken to Jerrick’s Funeral Parlour to await a post-mortem examination. When Guyana Times visited the area on Monday, relatives dismissed robbery as a motive, since the man’s body was found with his jewellery and his cellular phone intact.Gentle’s younger sister, Wanda Benjamin said she hoped that the Police could find her brother’s killer(s) and close this case soon. She recalled that she was awakened by someone who arrived at her home to request the services of her husband – who is a photographer. The woman said she and her family went to the scene, but initially did not recognise Gentle as his face was covered by blood.“I am hoping that the Police catch the person that did that as soon as possible and bring it to justice, so we as a family could get closure of his death,” she cried.Meanwhile, Stokeley Roberts, brother of the now dead man, said Gentle was a jovial person and hardly ever got into arguments.Dead: David GentleHe explained that his brother worked as a clerk at the village’s NDC and would usually be responsible for enforcing certain regulations, which may have been offensive to some persons.“To say if he had a problem with anybody, I won’t be able to say, but the work that he is doing – he works at the NDC office as a Clerk of Works to go around and see if people squatting on Government reserves like an enforcer, so I don’t know if this could be one of the reasons that cause this to happen to him… I know totally is not a robbery … why I would say is not a robbery is because jewellery, cellular phone, everything was intact,” he said.Roberts said when he saw his brother, he was very shocked as his sibling was motionless with several chops to his neck, with his head barely attached.last_img
