Rooney converted a penalty in the 84th minute for a 2-0 lead against Switzerland yesterday in a European Championship qualifier at Wembley Stadium. The Manchester United forward blasted his spot kick high into the net before pumping both fists and running over to celebrate in front of the England supporters. Charlton scored 49 goals in 106 England games. Rooney needed 107 games to get to 50. He had equalled the record by netting a penalty in a 6-0 win against San Marino on Saturday. England have already qualified for Euro 2016. England win MANCHESTER, England (AP): England kept alive the one-day series against Australia by winning the third match by 93 runs at Old Trafford yesterday, thanks to a first ODI century by James Taylor and a stunning display of fielding in the reply. first_imgA 31-year-old man was on Tuesday released on bail after he denied two counts of assault when he appeared before Magistrate Sherdel Marcus- Isaacs at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.Shaheed Murray of Lot 4610 Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Rasville, Georgetown, is accused of verbally assaulting his mother and young sibling.The court heard that on March 18, 2018, the father of three used threatening language against Ann De Ruche and Hassan Murray.A second charge was read to him which stated that Murray on the same day also threw stones at the Virtual Complaints while using threatening language.He denied all the charges.However, the Prosecutor did not object to bail and he was released on $20,000 bail.Moreover, Magistrate Marcus-Isaacs ordered the man to seek counselling, which if he defaults, will cause him to spend three weeks in prison.The man’s mother, Ann De Rushe, told the court that she wishes to discontinue with the charges against her son, citing that the court gave him a warning.Murray is expected to return to court on March 23.last_img read more
